To prepare you for the 2019 Elk hunt season, here are a few of our recommendations:
*Physical Training: 4-6 days a week and get your heart rate up and keep it up for 30 minutes to an hour. Increase workout time & intensity as the weeks go by. Make it hurt baby! Consult your doctor before beginning your workout routine.
*Get your hunting party together and pick a weapon to hunt with and nail down dates.
*Book early to assure your spot.
*Practice with your weapon and be very deadly with it at a variety of distances and many shooting positions. (Rifle hunters bring a bipod. A common reason for missing is not having a good shooting rest at the key moment.)
*Buy proper clothes. Break in any new boots.
*Bring great glass. Binoculars and spotting scope.
*Mentally prepare yourself for long hours afield.
*Ride a horse as much as you can in the weeks leading up to your hunt.
*Develop a positive attitude if you do not have one!
